Berry sport and recreation centre!

 

Berry sport and recreation centre is a camp for schools and families. It is located In Berry at 660 Coolangatta road, Berry 2535.

Rock climbing, Kayaking, Giant swing, Archery and dark maze are all types of activities at berry sport and recreation camp.

 

Rock climbing

To go rock climbing you need a harness, hard hat and a belay team. If you make a mistake When you are putting your harness on you need to take it off and start again otherwise you will have to start again otherwise you will be unsafe. One mistake you could make is the harness being too low down, the top of the harness has to be at the height of your belly button. You need to wear a hard hat in case you fall of and hit your head on the ground . Your belay team helps you to climb up the wall and makes sure you are safe at all times, but if your belay team is not paying attention and you fall off the wall you could really hurt yourself.

 

Kayaking

You go kayaking on Broughton creek. In the kayak there will be 2 people, you and one of your friends. The boat colours are red, blue and orange. The paddles are double sided paddles. As a class you paddle down the creek and then all the way back up.

 

Giant swing

The giant swing is 10 metres above the high. To go on the giant swing you need to wear a harness and a hard hat. The harness that you wear foe the giant swing is a bit different to the harness you wear when you go rock climbing. The harness goes on your shoulders waist and legs. You need to wear a hard hat in case you hit you head, (which is very unlikely.) The people in your class pull you up and when you go on the giant swing if you don’t want to go any higher you just say stop and that is the height you will stop at.

 

Archery

For archery you need 3 arrows and a bow, the bow that you use depends on the hand that you write with. You go up in groups at a time. The target colours on the board are white, black, blue, red and yellow. The target colour is yellow.

 

Dark maze

For the dark maze you need to wear a hard hat in case you hit your head on the top of the maze which is wooden beams. The floor on the bottom of the maze is uneven. You guide yourself along the ground. You go in 4 people at a time. The dark maze is pitch black.
